Learning from Their Success - Willo Carey
WHYY's Willo Carey will discuss the value of member-supported public media, its role in a 500-channel environment and WHYY's strategies to compete by being more than TV and Radio. She will also talk about the make-up of WHYY's financial support - its sources, fundraising strategies and benefits, including individual giving and corporate underwriting.
Willo Carey, a familiar face as on-air spokesperson for public media station WHYY, has been with WHYY since 1981, as director of development, capital campaign director, executive director of Wider Horizons - a service addressing the interests of the growing 50+ population - and currently manager of donor relations. She is a member of WHYY's executive management team concerned with strategic planning, institutional branding and development of new services across multimedia platforms.
